Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 2026
PapaBear is built with privacy as the foundation. Your family's data belongs to you, and we've designed the app to keep it that way.
Information We Collect
We collect minimal information necessary to provide the app experience:
- Name and email address for account creation
- App usage analytics (anonymized, no personal data)
All family data you enter into the app (kid profiles, journals, chores, maintenance tasks, etc.) is stored locally on your device.
Data Storage
PapaBear follows a local-first architecture. Your family data is stored on-device using Core Data and is not transmitted to external servers. If you enable iCloud sync, data is stored in your private iCloud container, accessible only to your Apple ID.
HealthKit
PapaBear may read and write data to Apple HealthKit with your permission. HealthKit data is used solely within the app for wellness tracking and is never shared with third parties, transmitted to external servers, or used for advertising purposes.
Family Sharing
When you enable Family Sharing, selected data is shared only within your family group via your private iCloud container. No family data is accessible to PapaBear or any third party. You control which data is shared and can revoke access at any time.
Third Parties
PapaBear does not use third-party analytics services, advertising SDKs, or data brokers. We do not sell, share, or transfer your personal information to any third party. Period.
Children's Privacy
PapaBear is fully COPPA compliant. The app does not collect personal information from children. All child-related data (profiles, health info, school details) is entered and managed by the parent and stored locally on the parent's device.
Data Deletion
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app. Deleting your account permanently removes all data from our systems. Local data on your device can be removed by deleting the app.
